Sree and Siva

The relationship grows firmer when you are Best Friends with your partner. Sree and Siva first went studying in the U.S. It wasn’t long before their friendly sessions turned into a prelude life together.  Having Siva around, there’s bound to be unlimited fun especially when he keeps pulling her leg. Constantly giggling, taunting, teasing yet having fun together.

A proper Teluginti Pelli with intimate friends and relatives from around and flying from India making it super special for the couple. Telugu weddings are culturally rich and religiously significant more like a Festival just like how this one lasted for 3 days. A slight hint of western for their Engagement, Sree wore a white gown, so did her pretty Bride squad and Siva don a Suit. At the Backyard with their closest bunch, they got engaged. Leaving nothing unturned, Sree went down on knees for Siva just like he did.

The Sangeet was planned and hosted by their friends and cousins. The Crystal Hall of Oasis Party Palace gave a royally flushed feeling as the couple entered. The party began with a fun couple questionnaire where Siva was witty and quirky with his answers, followed by the couple’s dance (in this case both were trying to :P), everyone around was obsessed with their energy. Sooner, the entire bunch couldn’t resist joining them and performed a Desi juke based on what they had whisked in their rooms from the previous nights.

Though the two days were power-packed, the family was revived to be present for the third day. Beginning with the bright Glamour, during Mangalasnanam, the pellikoduku/pellikuthuru were marinated in Haldi and water splashes, soon the amusement went over the top and they drenched each other. Siva’s cousins made a hilarious vegetable garland for him, he trolled himself saying a quick stir would have turned him into a vegetable curry.

Awe-struck by Sree’s entry being carried in the Butta (basket) by her maternal uncles. Enchanting the charm of the rituals, we had Pradanam (a pre-wedding ritual), Kanyadanam (sending off the daughter) and Panigrahanam (a promise made to stay across the thick and thin). Post this they performed sumuhurtham, the groom tied Mangal sutra (2 gold pendants tied to a turmeric-infused thread as a mark of owning the bride for a lifetime), they exchanged garlands followed by a few more promising rituals marking the exchanging vows. The vibe of the crowd was still intact, cheering each other, loads of silliness and wacky moments, endless love and gut-busting laughter.
